Smuggler's Luck
Edouard A. Stackpole
with a new foreward by Renny A. Stackpole
In Print Again, At Last
Mill Hill Press of the Egan Institute of Maritime Studies has just published a new edition of the classic 1931 novel Smuggler’s Luck by the late, beloved Nantucket historian Edward A. Stackpole.
Smuggler’s Luck, originally conceived as a young adult novel, chronicles the adventures of a Nantucket boy, Timothy Pinkham, as he experiences the island’s trials and tribulations during the American Revolution. Astonishing in the depth and accuracy of its historical detail, the novel is also a smashing yarn as real historical figures come to life with British and Colonial interests focusing unwelcome attention on the “neutral” islanders.
This 2005 edition of the novel features cover art and illustrations taken directly from the original and includes a new foreword written by the author’s son, historian Renny A. Stackpole. The large sturdy trade paperback retails for $20.00.
Many thanks and congratulations to the Mill Hill Press for introducing Edward Stackpole to a new generation of readers.
